Current News

Branch meeting 7th November:

I’m delighted to confirm that Dr Eva Bunting will be giving a talk on “Sleep problems in Parkinson’s disease”. Many of you will remember Dr Bunting’s excellent talk last year: “Exercise in Parkinson’s”

The details are as follows:

Mannings Heath Village Hall

Friday, 7th November, 17:00 (arrival and refreshments), 17:30 (lecture start time)

We are very lucky to have a local consultant neurologist to speak to us. There will be plenty of time for Q&A after the talk. I would also appreciate it if you could all complete a feedback questionnaire, which I will provide on the day.

24 members of our branch had a fantastic day out. They enjoyed a wonderful 2-hour Cream Tea Cruise on the Chichester Ship Canal aboard the 32-seater Richmond. The cruise was ably crewed by Keith and Mark.

We savoured uninterrupted views of the countryside, Cathedral, and South Downs. Of course, we couldn’t miss the local scone, jam, and clotted cream, served with a choice of tea or coffee.

As we glided past the wildflowers and reed beds, we were captivated by the reflections in the water and the unique views of the cathedral and South Downs. We even spotted wild birds and other animals in their natural habitat.

It was a truly memorable day, and everyone had a great time.

We need a few more members to come and join us on the first Wednesday of each month 7 to 9 pm with a refreshment break. Its really a social gathering with some dance thrown in.

Argentine Tango and the music helps overcome symptoms and is great fun. If you can walk you can do it. No wrong steps only variations!
